Paul Meeks started API Outdoors, Inc. in 1986 with a specific goal: create a line of lighter, superior treestands for hunters throughout America.  To say he has triumphed would be an understatement.

Today, API produces more than 100,000 treestands annually, and the company has expanded to include ATV accessories and specialty items that enhance the enjoyment and odds of every hunt.  API's original 6,000-square-foot building in Tallulah, Louisiana, is now part of a 100,000-square-foot manufacturing complex that employs upwards of 250 year-round to tackle consumer demand.

API's diversity and success are evident in lodges and trophy rooms in every region of the United States.  The company's broad line of products is designed to meet the specific demands of hunters -- both bow and gun -- for all environments and situations.

API continues to expand and improve.  As a founding member of the Treestand Manufacturers Association, API designers and craftsmen are on the cutting edge of product safety and quality.  Such dedication, a company trademark since its inception, is paramount in a multi-million-dollar industry characterized by rapid change and growth.

It's the reason Meeks and API continue to be the leaders in treestand technology.

*Warning --- Safety Belt  must be worn at all times when using API treestands. ( Climbing Instructions )

Safety First

INSPECT YOUR EQUIPMENT. Don't wait until opening day to pull your treestand out of storage. Examine it several weeks before the start of hunting season.

  • Check the "Soft" components ( safety belt, stabalizer belt, seats, straps and camo covers ) for wear and tear, making sure the stiching is intact.
