The Drop
Shot fishing technique migrated from the western states and is now used all
over the country. Whenever a fishing style or technique spreads across the
country like drop-shotting has usually means “it
works” and any person who is serious about sport-fishing should research and
be able to use the technique when needed. In a tournament situation this
could make the difference at weigh-In.
One big
advantage using a drop-shot rig is the ability to suspend the bait of the
bottom. It’s great for suspended fish and the tag end can be adjusted to the
level needed. The possibilities for using this rig are endless. Suspended
fish, above grass on the bottom etc. When you need to spoon-feed your bass
this is a great way to do it.
Instructions:
Tie a
split-shot / drop-shot hook using a Palomar knot leaving a long tag end to
attach a drop-shot weight.
Nose-hook
your bait or Texas rig for weedless
presentations.
We
recommend using lightweight spinning tackle and a finesse type bait on this
rig.
